Bank of Canada
... Unclaimed Bank Balances
About "LA."
Laurie-Anne Shonuck

I am a retired corporate tax auditor and now strive to follow hundreds of paper-trails leading to the discovery and the returning of thousands/millions of dollars back to the Rightful Canadian owners presently being held on deposit with the Bank of Canada.
I research and discover unclaimed bank accounts of corporations and individuals, alike.
Dealing with corporations is "business" and that's great especially when it pays off (and I can then gift back 10% of that to my supporters as per their percentage of investment - A percentage-based reward) but when dealing with people and their families, well that's "personal".
There is no better feeling in the world than to tell someone that I have found their long lost money or to surprise them with an inheritance from a loved one's estate that's been stashed away in the Bank of Canada just waiting for them to file a Claim!
To be the one to bring such joy and sometimes much needed financial relief into peoples lives is sincerely a privilege.
Which reminds me of what I now refer to as: "The Westlake Story". I invite you to enjoy this remarkable and heartwarming story which will also help to explain the reasons how and why I have become so passionate to help return ALL unclaimed bank balances to the Rightful Canadians/owners.
Arguments to be made;
It's true, anyone can visit the Bank of Canada website to discover they have money there/abandoned after ten years at their bank branch, then transferred to the Bank of Canada where it remains on deposit for next 100 years or until someone simply files a claim by filling out the forms available to them on the Bank's website, it's honestly that easy!
... BUT THE TRUTH IS, THEY DON'T! We however, DO make the effort to inform persons/companies of this fact and in return, ask for a very small percentage of their claim, for the persons and or companies whom otherwise would likely never have known of the deposit amount owing to them. It is a Fact - otherwise, they would have claimed their money long before ten years had pasted and I contacted them, had they known.
That's were I come in and the question arises as to why, if I can track down all these Rightful owners, why can't or why hasn't the Bank of Canada?
eg. I profile KPMG on the "Wall of Fame" for good reason - KPMG are located just two blocks east from the Bank of Canada Head Quarters in Ottawa, Canada - I too am located just two blocks south of both KPMG and the Bank of Canada where I couldn't help but notice and recognize the corporation's name on over 53 outstanding balances owing to KPMG given the fact that I walk past the building displaying their giant KPMG logo on top of the skyscraper located just 2 blocks away on Elgin Street, most every day!
Regardless of what financial and or political influences play a role in all this unclaimed money, I for one think the Bank should be doing at least as good a job, as I have. I cannot speak to the reasons as to why the Bank does not do more to return this money to deserving Canadians but that too seems to be the main problem in this entire scenario.
Why don't we know more? - Is the Bank of Canada trying to locate these individuals & companies? If not, why not? And finally, is there a governing body assigned to oversee that the Bank of Canada follows a best business practices policy to return your money, aside from the Receiver General?
FYI: Think about this scenario, full circle,
... The Bank of Canada will hold your unclaimed bank balance(s) on deposit for 100 years once your bank branch/manager, by law, transfers the money to the Bank of Canada after 10 years of inactivity - if there are no claimants on your account/money order/bank draft by you or your heirs after 100 years, the Bank of Canada then transfers those funds to the Receiver General where it remains forever more, nonrefundable. I imagine, and correct me if I'm wrong, the Receiver General can then use/spend your money anyway they see fit.
Seems like the fox is in charge of the hen house for when you do follow this scenario full circle, why would the Receiver General demand the Bank of Canada do all it should to return your money if it all ends up in their bank after all is said and done?
Please share this site URL with all your friends and family if you agree that the Bank of Canada should be making more of an effort to return this money to Canadians.
